In the first episode of Fleeting, Briana talks to MaryRose about the many ways high school culture shape ideas of a good, bad, or downright ugly relationship. Looking deeper into how a partner can be controlling, MaryRose offers suggestions as to how her religion sprouted out of something negative.
In the second part of Episode 1, MaryRose discusses the pressures she felt from her high school ex-boyfriend's parents, and the complications it caused for her relationship. Issues of control and verbal abuse arise, as she relays the emotions she felt during this time. Briana prompts MaryRose to think about her religion in the context of her views on love, sex, and marriage.
